AUTHOR’S UPDATES

  • Backstory: In the summer of 2021 I stayed on a lake in New York. I was very interested in the families of ducks walking on land to consume the suits falling onto the ground from the mulberry tree. I wrote this poem about them, it’s nothing much but I enjoy it.

Mother Ducks & The Mulberry Trees

Boats will drive by with their treacherous wake,

don’t fret, for the water will be calm again,

and we’ll all have a turn at the Mulberry Tree.

I think it’s just an interesting little poem about a mother duck speaking to her ducklings about how no matter how bad life can get we’ll always “have a turn at the Mulberry tree.”

I just wanted to share, hope you enjoyed!

  • Kiwis are incredible, though small in quantity. The work you have to do to actually cut and consume a kiwi is laboring but most definitely worth it.

If there’s a lesson to take away from this, it’s this. Try a Kiwi if you haven’t.
